  • August 19, 2017 in Foster City, CA: DAY ONE -- Teaching Math with the Common Core for Conceptual Mastery... Grades Kg-6th

    For Teachers, Parents and Administrators to learn how to:
    (1) Enjoy hands-on experiences that help teachers move from memorization-based teaching to a more conceptual, problem-solving approach.
    (2) Learn how to find and create problems that are hard yet accessible to all students, given manipulatives.
    (3) Explore changes you can make that give children the ‘Gift of Time’ in learning math.

    • Small Group registration:
        by 16 August ($200 each for groups of 3 or 4)
    • Large Group registration:
        by 16 August ($180 each for groups of 5 or more)

    • School Principals attend free with 3 paid registrants upon request by email.

    (2) Develop one differentiated lesson at your grade level that uses manipulatives.
    (3) Word problems? Our students love them! Learn how to teach the Singapore Model approach using understanding rather than memorization, and challenge rather than confusion.
    (4) Attendance on 19 August at the DAY ONE workshop for teaching Kg-6th is highly recommended.
